Joyce Strothmann Scholarship

This Scholarship is named for Joyce Strothmann, who provided outstanding service to AAUW. She was a graduate of Principia College; a high school English teacher; a private piano teacher and an avid golfer.  Above all, she was an active advocate for women and girls achieving their educational and career goals. She was both a past Northwest Tucson branch President and Arizona AAUW State President.  Joyce Strothmann Scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding re-entry women students attending Pima Community College.  The program is supported by Branch member donations and occasional fundraising events.

In addition, we recently created the Marilyn L. Eddington Endowment, which generates some income for the Strothmann Fund. Marilyn was another strong advocate of the scholarship.

We raise money for the scholarships and to increase the endowment through a combination of fundraising events and individual contributions, which are crucial.  To donate, please fill out the  form on the website or request a form from Treasurer Carol Collins or Scholarship Chair, Ann Ellsworth, and send it in to Carol along with your check.
